In Excel I find that despite my options being set to save spreadsheets as Excel Workbook they are saved in Compatibility mode.
When I hover over the file it is shown as a Microsoft Office Excel 2007 Workbook and when I click to open it an error window appears stating "There was a problem sending the command to the program". Sometimes the spreadsheet opens and on other occasions it does not. When it does open it has a title Xl000001 or similar. I have tried to set the default programme but without any solution. In Word I have the same problem but I can open them with the correct title but only by right clicking and selecting Open With and Word (Desktop). How do I resolve this please? |

You just need to change the association files on:
Windows Explorer >> Tools >> Folder Options >> Files Type, and points to Microsoft excel files as XLSX, XLSM, etc.. Cheers... |
