Question Multi-user authoring

The web version of Excel allows multi-user authoring but I remember that the client version would also allow that too from two or more clients or mix of client instances and Web instances. I haven't found anything that says that was discontinue nor can I find anything that says that is a feature and if so how do I use it?

Thanks
