Default Trouble copying from one Worksheet to another

I am trying to set up a workbook with multiple worksheets. I want the first workseet, which I'll call "Summary" to display data from the other worksheets and automatically be updated when the source data from the other worksheets changes.

It seems to me this should be pretty simple but I am having problems. When I try to copy the contents a cell from the Worksheet1 into a cell in Summary, it also copies the contents of all of the cells in the column, beneath the cell in Worksheet1 which I want to be my source, into the cells beneath the one in Summary which I want to be my destination. I am trying to do this by simply typing = then clicking on the Worksheet1 tab and the source cell and then hitting enter. I think it has something to do with the destination cell because It works properly in one destination cell but not in another regardless of the source cells.
