Hello,
The formula I am using is marking all the duplicates, but I need it to leave the first record (do not mark the first record as a dupe)-- but mark the duplicates after that. I want to keep only 1 unique record of first name, last name. Here's the formula I used: =IF(OR(AND(C4=C5,D4=D5),AND(C4=C3,D4=D3)),"Duplica te Contact Name","") Please help! Thank you in advance, Gef |

Yes it is. Is there one formula to identify dupes in FIrstName LastName

* Select the table of your data including headers, if any.
* Select Data>Remove Duplicates. * If you have headers, check "My data has headers" and the headers will be displayed in the list (rather than just the column letters. * Uncheck all but the columns you want to check for duplicates i.e. make sure just first and last name are checked. * Press OK. |

Thank you for your answer. However, when I use this action it does not maintain the rest of the data. I need the duplicate rows to be deleted, but the data in each row that remains needs to stay with the FN LN.
Please see sample attached. Thxs. |

You are selecting the whole table when you remove duplicates, right? Not just the first and last names. If I use the Remove Duplicates, only one record remains for this contact. This record has all the same data that every other record had save for this one field. Only the first instance of this, 147, is kept. |

Oops -- I was only selecting the FN LN. I did it correctly, and it works great!! Thank you for your patient and clear instructions!!
