When attempting to copy several rows from one spreadsheet to another, I receive an error message that says my action "requires the merged cells to be identically sized." In this case, all of the columns are of a different width. I have encountered this before and, if I recall correctly, there is a method for undoing the merged columns in the spreadsheet into which the data is to be copied. In other words, the spreadsheet into which I wish to Paste the data contains merged/linked columns. Thanks for any assistance. Gordon Houston, TX |

FYI, except for pure cosmetic purposes, merging cells should be avoided.
If necessary you can use Format - Alignment - Horizontal - Center across selection ( if memory serves) Same effect , no drawbacks
