Smile 2 Charts with Horizontal & Vertical Data

OSX, V14.4.8 Excel: I have two charts that are required to arrive at a single result. Data is Horizontal and Vertical, pulling the result from ascending H and descending Vertical data.
Any help would be appreciated.

That's nice.

Did you have a question?

By the way, for the sake of clarity, what you have there are tables of data, not charts.

I would like to be able to use this on my iPad when having to determine a last minute notification of change in landing runway conditions, i.e minimal input, quick result.
I would ENTER manually;
1. Landing Weight ( i.e. 26000 )
2. Airport Elevation: ( i.e. 90 )
>>> Result ( i.e. 2324 )
3. Contaminated Runway CRFI: ( 0.32 )
>>> Result ( 4873 )

TWIMC As the result of your help could lead to life-threatening results in case of an error or a wrong interpretation, or an accidental change in your formula/function/answer, I strongly recommend to be VERY careful with your answers.
I will personaly not take the risk of answering this thread nor would I, as a pilot, dare use such an unreliable tool.

No offense meant to the OP

I appreciate your candid thoughts!
However, as a professional, I use many applications to arrive at a decision point, and have done so for the previous 23+K hours of flying. Therefore. I will use the tools at hand to assist my decision making process! Regards!

Absolutely. I just wanted to draw the attention of our posters/readers to their possible responsibility if anything harmful happens ( which of course I hope will not)

I see. So PA is airport elevation, eh? That's helpful information. OK, so it looks like these would be interpolations of two lookups, one leading to the other. Interesting. I'll ponder it.

I found an add-in that apparently will do this sort of thing though I don't know if it will then work on your iPad.

http://xongrid.sourceforge.net/

I used their function INTERP2DTAB. I tried it and could not replicate for your data how it worked with their examples. I keep getting "Error: Duplicates".

At any rate, this is going to take some doing likely using OFFSET functions and am afraid I may be out of my depth on this. I'll keep trying.

I found out why it didn't work. Your data table has two columns of data for 32k weight. I assume the other should be 34k. The calculated result from the first set of data according to this is 2317 which matches what I calculated manually.

OK...so here's what I have though it will only work with the add-in. Using the data provided, I highlighted the interpolation area of both tables. The calculations give 2317 for adjusted calculated landing distance and 4676 for CRFI calculated landing distance.

For it to work, I had to unmerge the CRFI data in the second table.

Looking good! But,if I change either the weight (Wt) or altitude (PA) I get a #NAME? Error in both U11 & U15. Thoughts?

Missed it as I thought this was another approach. Will I run into an install problem on OS10, Office Mac-2011 V14.4.8; or only on Windows?
Your input is very much appreciated.

I am just an Excel workhorse, an old broken down one at that. I have no idea how it will work other than with my version and my OS. Obviously, the add-in must be local and the code is not embedded in the sheet as VBA would be. In that respect, I can't imagine it would ever work on an iPad. However, i give it an even shot of working on your Mac.

The good news is, it's possible and if it can be done with an add in, it probably can be done with VBA. However, that would be well beyond my capability. Perhaps someone here knows. Pecoflyer and macropod are two that come to mind though PF seems to have a fear of flying. ;-)

I will reach out to the developer and see if possibly he would share the code for this function.
