Question Excel file icon - exclamation point

I'm running Office 2013. The icon for my Excel (and Word) files includes an exclamation point. What does this mean? Is the file corrupted somehow? How can I get rid of it?

Thanks

It is the icon for files with macros-enabled. If you Save As and select Excel Workbook as the file type, it will go away along with any macros within.
