Default Excel data is "hidden"

If I launch an Excel file when the program is not running, the Excel file is blank. I don't see any tabs in the spreadsheet nor any data. It's just a white screen. However, when I move the mouse around or use the keyboard to move around the spreadsheet, I can see from the formula bar that all of the formulas and values are there.

The only solution I've found that works is to select View, Arrange All. How can I avoid this problem in the future?
