Default Conditional Cell Formatting: Alternating Cell Checks

Hi,

I'm using conditional formatting and probably the formula rule descriptions (Excel 2010).

I am trying to change the fill of cells based on their values, but only in alternating rows (i.e., I only want to check odd numbered rows for specific values; the even rows should remain unchanged).

E.g. I would like to check row 1, 3, 5, 7, ... to see which contain the value 1 and change these cells to have the fill colour green.

Any assistance would be appreciated!

Next, I would like to do formatting in the odd numbered rows for a value within a range.

I didn't end up using any formulas. I just selected alternating rows. I'm sure there's a more elegant solution.

Not sure whether this is the right forum for my problem.

Running Word 2007.

Recently, line spacing changed instead of single to double. After research I downloaded and installed Microsoft Fixit 50213. Did not work.

Shall be grateful for advice.

Thank you.
