Default Cell Fill color overwrites grid?

I selected an area of the spreadsheet, right clicked to format, selected the fill tab, selected a color.

However as a result, the cell grid lines within the selected area no longer display either on screen or print.

Is there a way to have both, a color for the area selected and the grid lines?

Btw, if I re-select the same area and then select no color for the fill, the grid lines are still gone.

Mark

Hi Mark

Aplying colors to a cell make gridlines disapear. You will have to apply borderlines to cells, which will be visible all the time.

sounds odd, maybe you selected the white color instead of no color?

Cheers

You're absolutely right. I did select white vs. no color and no color does return the grid.

I never seem to have good luck with borders. Is there a way to select a particular area of the 'filled' spreadsheet and with one or two border commands have the grid come back good as new just with color?

I guess it took saying I couldn't get the border thing to work for the inspiration ;-)

After setting the range, I just had to click the internal crossbars after clicking the external square!
