Default row numbers in excel

in all of my excel spreadsheets, the row numbers are cut off on the left hand side. I can't even see the row numbers by scrolling to the left. For eg, for number 1-99 all I can see are the last digits of the row numbers, not the first. So it's very difficult to do any kind of formulas. This seemed to happen after I upgraded to 2013.

That suggests you've moved the left edge of the Excel window too far to the left. Try clicking the 'maximise' button, which should resize the Excel window to fit your screen. You can then drag the corners/sides inwards to reduce it for a 'normal' view.
