When I open Excel files, they are completely blank. There are no row or column headers, and I don't see any Workbook tabs at the bottom of the screen. But I know the data is there because when I click on various areas of the blank screen, I can see information in the formula bar. The only solution I've come up with is to select View, Arrange All, and then select "Ok" under the Arrange Windows screen. My data miraculously appears, and everything works fine thereafter.
What causes my data to be "invisible" to begin with, and is there a better solution for this problem? Thanks |

can you upload a screen shot of how the screen looks when you first open the file?

Not sure about 2013 but try File - Options - Advanced - Under Display options for this workbook check everything and the same for Display options for this worksheet
Also check if any macros are active ( ALt+F11)

I tried changing the Display options, but that wasn't it. And there are no macros active.
I did a little experiment: Scenario 1: I launch Excel and open Spreadsheet A. It's blank (my current problem). Scenario 2: I launch Excel and open a blank spreadsheet. THEN I open Spreadsheet A, and it's now visible and working fine. Does this help shed some light on the situation? Thanks for your help! |

Hi
Try: Save your file under new name when it's showing correctly. Close excel completely, afterwards open the new file. Cheers |

That seems to have worked. Any idea what caused the problem in the first place?

As Pecoflyer said earlier, you will have to check with Display options and related themes. Obviously with saving the workbook when shown correctly you also saved another setting and the "error" was gone.
