formula for monthly sum
Hello friends,
I am attaching a file. Column A contains various dates and column B contains corresponding interest applied on such dates. I wish to get the sum of interest applied during a month as shown in D and E columns. Entries in D columns can be made manually by entering the first 2 entries and then drag down. Please help me with a suitable formula in E1 to drag down so as to get the total for each month, corresponding to each month-end Thanks in advance Regards...... Pauly |

I have come up with a solution, it isn't overly pretty but it works...
Note; the end of the formula in cells G2, G3 and G4 are slightly different but from G4 (31.12.2008) down they are all the same. I am guessing there is a more elegant solution, but at this stage I think it will need someone with more than my "beginner" skill level. You will need to swap the semicolons (;) for commas (,). Regards. |
