There is already a supervisor in B1, so all persons in col B have that supervisor. Problem solved ? I think there is something wrong there

The supr are listed in the top row with their employees below each name. All the employee names have been input in column B for this example.Column B would normally be empty. Is there a way to auto input the name of the supr for each person in Column A. The order of the employ name will change each day in column B but supr will stay the same. I have separated each group with a yellow highlight.

Hope I have not made this more confusing.

Try this in A2
Code:
=INDEX($C$1:$K$1,SUMPRODUCT((COLUMN($C$2:$K$17)*($C$2:$K$17=$B2)))-COLUMN($C$2:$K$17)+1)

OMG I so appreciate what you have done. I do have 2 issues. When I insert formula in A2 I get a REF! error. I do not get any results for the supr in column H.

#REF! IN A2
#REF! LW Nicole Cook FOR Column H

Again thank you so much for your help thus far.

All persons under the supervisor in col H are also in col G. XL finds two answers, and the formula does not work

Thank you for all your help. I still get the REF! error when I fill column A. I have to add about 20 more columns so I will have to adjust the formula and REF! error will have to show on sheet.

Again Thanks
