Landscape Formatting causes Excel to crash

Hi,
When using Landscape format and intermittently after customizing the header and footer, MS Excel crashes with error message ' MS Excel has stopped working'.
I have tried re-creating the documents, repairing MS Office but problem remains.
Any assistance appreciated.
