Hi everyone.
I am getting the following error when I try to open a certain xlsb file: Excel cannot open this file. The file might have been damaged or modified from its original format. I've tried changing the extension to xlsx and xls, and opening it in Open Office, Google Docs, iWork Numbers and Box.com. The file format is Microsoft Excel 2007 spreadsheet (macros enabled). I use Mac OS X 10.9.4 and Excel 2008 for Mac 12.2.7. Is anyone willing to try opening it, or offer any more advice? This is the file I use to keep track of client billing and expenses, so it's very important that I recover it. (This is what I get for not doing time machine for a few months!) Here is a link to the file: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/...sion%201).xlsb Thanks, Bryce Seattle |

Hi Bryce
I can't open your file either, seems to be damaged. I haven't got a mac, but wasn't Excel 2008 for mac unable to deal with vba? I think that was the version, which didn't support vba. Still in my opinion the file should open, though it might eliminate all codes in it. Apache Open Office would be an alternative choice, but obviously you already tried. |
