Default How to fit the sheet to one page

Hi,

When I want to print out a sheet in Excel. The printout is not fit the page. There is a big gap at the top and bottom of the paper. The attached pictures are showing the issue with the settings of the margins and the scaling.

The scaling

Hi

On the margins' page tick off horizontally and vertically. Probably it will show that your selected range doesn't fit on one page only.
If you then choose only vertically, the text will show on the top of the page leaving the gap only at the bottom. That's all you can do about it unless you divide the printout to several pages.

Having excel to fit a big range to one sheet, it always will result that way. It works like zooming.

The gaps are because Excel keeps everything proportioned when you ask it to keep everything on one page. It will not fit the data to the width and then stretch the data from top to bottom. Otherwise, your data would look completely screwed up!

Unfortunately I think whatup's suggestion is the only valid attempt at getting it to fit.

If there are not too many more rows to your print out- you could also tick off the 'Show Margins' under Preview. Then toggle the margins manually in an attmept to squeeze the last few rows on the page.

Thank you for your reply.
In this case the excel is not useful enough. But, I saw a big range sheet fit to one page was done by other people when I tried to do as it was done I got the result with gap!

As I said: It's like zooming
If the proportion is alright excel will squeeze it on a page regardless if you can read anything or not afterwards. In your case the squeezing results in rows with little height in order to get all columns on the page. That leaves the gaps.

I understand what do you mean but I'm sure there is a solution because I told you I saw printout sheets that fit to one page but when I tried to do it, I get the sheet with gap.

I attached a file named table. Of course when I print it out I get a gap but the original sheet paper is fitted one A4 page, sure no gaps. Unfortunately, I didn't keep the paper, if I did I scan it to approve what I'm saying.

I don't know what the printout was looking like. Of course you can increase each row's height until it fills your page. Another option is to have a picture of the sheet and adjust height and width of the picture to fit a page, but either way it probably won't suit you.
But I don't have any other idea.

You gave me some hope. I copied the sheet to the Paint, saved it as picture, then insert the picture in Word. Expand the picture to fill the page, then print. I think I succeed in this sheet but it is not suitable when I have file with many sheets.

Question out of the post topic, when I download an attachment it comes with .php how to open it?
