Thanks, Paul. I'm afraid that your sugg is all that's available to alter vertical space in text in a cell. As you mentioned, greater space between all lines will give the desired space at the cells' tops and bottoms, but the same extra space between each line would be undesirable.

I'd considered a macro solution but, yes, it would require constant maintenance.

I couldn't think of a convenient solution, and it's reassuring that someone with your skills & experience codifies my conclusions.
