Default Changing Cursor display?

Hi,

I'm using Excel 2010 and have a huge document. When I have a cell selected it is often difficult to see what I have actually selected.

Is there anyway that the cursor box can be amended so it's a different colour?

I'm sure I recall in older versions that you could have a ruler that goes across the page.

Many thanks.

Default

Excel automatically highlights both the row reference at the left and the column reference at the top for whatever cell(s) you select.

And no, older versions didn't behave any differently. If you select more than one cell, the active cell remains unshaded, whilst the others are shaded.

There are also 3rd-party utilities that highlight the whole row & column, so the intersection is extra-highlighted.
