Problem with formula!
Hi,
Thanks for any help. We are putting together a spreadsheet for making up curtains but have hit a bit of a problem. The solution is probably simple but we arent really experts when it comes to formulas on excel In short when making curtains we have to calculate the number of widths of fabric we use, in the industry if for example the number of widths works out at anything over 2.1 it is always rounded up. if however it is 2.1 or below it is rounded down. This is where we are having our problems, its easy for us to round up and round down but is there a way of putting this trigger into place so that it rounds up or down around the 0.1 of any given figure. We have excel 2003 by the way. Thanks again. |

Does the following help? (B1 contains the number of widths) =IF(MOD(B1,1)>0.1,CEILING(B1,1),FLOOR(B1,1))
