Default First spreadsheet row is now numbered 2

I am using Office 2000. I must have accidentally hit a key, because the first row showing is now number two. The information on the first row has disappeared.

How do I display the first row again?

Hi perhaps Ctrl+A - Format - Rows - Unhide ? ( don't have XL200 I'm afraid)

I agree with Peco, Colonel; it sounds as though somehow the first row is still there but hidden. The question is how to find the Unhide option in an unfamiliar version of Excel.

If you can't find it by looking for "unhide" in the help files, try this: Hiding a row or column is usually matter of making its height or width equal to zero. You can accomplish the same thing with your mouse by simply adjusting the column width, for example, narrowing it until it disappears entirely. After doing that, you can still carefully grab the right boundary of that hidden column and drag it out again. Probably you can do the same thing for that missing first row, too; search for the bottom boundary of that row (your cursor will change shape when you have it) and drag it down.

Should be able to expand the row by clicking near the top row and pull down, same as manually adjusting a row height.

Right on the money! I could not find an "unhide" reference, but by placing the cursor on the top of row #2 and dragging down, who should appear but row #1.

Thanks for all of the responses. It's forums like these that keep folks like me out of trouble. I learn more and more as I age, but do I get any smarter?
