Hi,
I have A2:A20 different names repeated also, D2:20 used material repeated names in different date related to the names in column A2:A20, and prices for those materials in H2:H20. Now want a formula in sheet 2 cell A2 as summary sheet, to look at Column A sheet1, to find same name in different cells, and cell B2 in sheet 2, to find the used material by that name in Column D, and cell C2 in sheet 2, to sum the related prices in column H for that material. Can you help please? Cheers, Iraj. Last edited by Iraj; 10-26-2013 at 06:13 PM. |

Hi
I don't follow what you mean, can you add your expected result. Look into the SUMIF/SUMIFS function and clean your text up in column A, on the tab: Material Cost for Each Project. To remove spaces. |

Hi Kevin,
I want to know is there any formula to find in sheet 1, column A the sum of reapeated company names as a text, return to column B and find out the sum of all materials supplied by the same company name again as a text, and the sume of those related material cost in column C. Ex, A B C Blum Hinge 12 Richelue Sandpaper .55 Wonder paint 125 bibi Plywood 56 Nadi Screw 200 Bobi Nail 100 Blum Hinge 34 Wonder Paint 324 Nadi Screw 650 Richelue Sandpaper 25 Wonder Paint 34 bibi Plywood 342 Thanks, Iraj. |

Hi
Try the following in B2 on the "Material Cost for Each Project" tab and copy down. =SUMIF('Daily Material Purchase'!$A$2:$A$20,$A2,'Daily Material Purchase'!$C$2:$C$20) Also you need to clean up the text in column A on the "Daily Material Purchase" tab to remove unwanted spaces. Is this what you require! |
