entering the formula itself would not work.
I had to enter the formula..make the changes I wanted it to show thru CF
Save it
Go back into it, edit the range(in cf after the "format" box...ie.. =$A$4:$Y$368
save it
had noticed it changed the initial formula in the CF box to "=$A1053782"
changed that back to =$A4=TODAY()

and it worked.
maybe something in the options in Excel?? Was a tough go.......but thank you all.
