Default Excel Addins

I have an Excel 2010 Workbook that I lock to USB's with a program called LockXLS. LockXLS works with 64 bit and 32 bit operating systems, and works with Excel 2003 up to Excel 2013. Sometimes however, (About 1 out of 5 or 6 computers) the program will not open on my clients computer. I have forwarded the error messages to LockXLS who assure me it is not a problem with their program. I get different error messages on different computers. Is there a setting in Excel that could be causing this problem?

Thanks!

It could be a conflict with another 3rd-party Excel addin and/or other software installed on the target system (even AV/IS software). Tracking the cause of such errors (Note: it's typical for vendors to disclaim any fault in their own products) can be very time-consuming. I note that the LockXLS change log (http://www.lockxls.com/changelog.asp) admits to past problems with some AV/IS packages, notably Norton, and USB protection, etc, so you should also make sure you're using the latest version. Note too that it's always possible an update for the OS and/or Office from MS might break the product - it all depends on how well written it is. Likewise an update for the AV/IS software or another 3rd-party addin might break the product...

Thanks Paul, clearly I have some work to do to track this issue down. I am using the latest version of LockXLS and installation of LockXLS on my clients computer is not required. I will post the issue here if I can find it.

Thanks again!!
