Default Change AutoSum Result to Zero Decimal Places

Using Excel 365

How can I change the AutoSum result to zero decimal places when I click that to sum a few values? My values are zero decimal places. AutoSum defaults to two decimal places.

Thank you in advance.

Best,
Karen

Hi Karen,

You have a couple of easy options
1) Simply change the format of the cell with the sum result in to a number with 0 decimal places.
2) if the numbers are always going to be whole numbers (These will round it up/down), you could nest the sum function into either text or fixed functions.Examples for summing values in cell range A1:A5:
=FIXED(sum(A1:15),0,TRUE)
=TEXT(SUM(A1:A5),"0")

Please confirm that works.

Thanks,
B

OMG! I’m sooooo sorry, I just realized that I posted this incorrectly. I’m not using Excel, I’m using Word.

Do you have a solution?

Thank you for your time and I apologize for the mistake.

simple mistake.

I would go to word, select the cell you want the sum in, go to table tools > layout > formula. In there have =sum(left) - or up/down/right depending on how you have your table, finally, in the number format just put 0

That should work

Thank you so much! That worked great!
The way I have it set up is there are two table cells above the =SUM(ABOVE) formula, which are currency values. Your method eliminated the decimal places. Is there a way of formatting the value to currency or do I just have to put in the dollar sign after it calculates?

Thank you in advance,
Karen

Sure, Just put a £ or whatever currency symbol in front. You can also do other tweaks to this if you wanted to. For example "Total £0" will always have Total in the cell etc.

edit: by this I mean in the format box you can just put $0 and it will always have the $ before the number with no decimals
