Default broken links in excel documents

Hello,

I have built a number of templates of excel documents that I use month to month and I keep these templates in a template folder. At the start of a new month I take a template and copy it to my current work folder and rename it for the current month. The problem that keeps arising is that important links I have inserted in the templates cease to function when I move and rename the document, even though the targets of those links have not changed. The issue for some reason is arising specifically as a result of the document being moved from the template folder and/or being renamed.

Help Appreciated!
Kenny

Renaming the file or changing the destination file will cause issues. I know that you can changed the external data location. Have you thought about placing the templates on different worksheets and running the file that way. I know doing that can cause the program to run slow if you use formulas but that can be sped up if needed with VBA.
Help Appreciated!
