![]() Hi everyone. I am having an issue with sorting a column of dates. Below is a sample of the column. There are many more dates than those listed. The issue is this no matter what I try "December 30,2012" is always at the top of the list out of order. I'm trying to sort a list of dates from newest to oldest. I have deleted and re-entered it at the bottom of the list, then resorted and BOOM its at the top again out of order. Any advise .... December 30, 2012 July 7, 2013 June 30, 2013 |

You probably have text looking like dates instead of real dates.
Try the following : select the column with dates- go to Data - Text to columns - Check delimted - Next -Next - Select Date and in the dropdown box select MDY - Finish You now should have real dates you can sort as needed
