![]() Hi, I am new to Excel, but I am trying to expand my skills by producing a Formula. What I aiming to do is the following, I am creating a Recycable Spreadsheet, and I have cells with a drop list in them. I want to create a formula so if you select say Metal in Cell A, and the Material, say Aerosol in Cell B, then cell C chooses 'widely recycled, Check or Not recycled' from a drop list in Cell C. I have tried the tutorials, but I cant seem to get it to work. I am in Office 2011 for Mac, if that helps. Cheers Steve |

I don't know from Mac, and I never use drop-down lists in Excel, so I'm not the best person to help. But won't an IF function work? "IF(AND(A1="Metal",B1="Aerosol"),"widely recycled, Check or Not recycled",...).
But then, I see something's missing. What do you want that function to select in other cases? And maybe the IF function won't work in conjunction with drop-down lists at all; I wouldn't know about that. |
