formulae to combine excel records
I have the following example - date & time, value
01.01.2013 22:02:02.157 1.32068 01.01.2013 22:02:15.028 1.3207 01.01.2013 22:03:01.673 1.3205 01.01.2013 22:03:01.732 1.32044 01.01.2013 22:03:01.792 1.32043 01.01.2013 22:03:02.092 1.32075 01.01.2013 22:03:02.397 1.32075 01.01.2013 22:03:07.233 1.32056 01.01.2013 22:03:14.262 1.32056 01.01.2013 22:03:14.582 1.32053 01.01.2013 22:05:11.892 1.32062 01.01.2013 22:05:12.546 1.32062 -------------------------------------- I wish to produce a second sheet like..... 01.01.2013 22:02 value1 01.01.2013 22:03 value2 01.01.2013 22:05 value3 where values1, 2 and 3 are the average of all the values from 22:02, 22:03 and 22:05 Any suggestions on a logical way to approach this problem? |

Hi H28Sailor,
It's not apparent from your post whether all the data on a given line are in a sngle cell or are split over multiple cells. Can you attach a file to a post with some representative data (delete anything sensitive)? You do this via the paperclip symbol on the 'Go Advanced' tab.

Somehow I don't think that's going to average the values for each minute...

You must see different things on your monitor as I can't see any thing about minutes!
There are 2 columns of info: 1ate/Time 2:Value No mention of minutes! |

And what do you suppose the date/time values are expressed as units of? And what do you suppose the OP means by:
