Numbers don't merge right in Word 2007

Hello experts!

My data is in an Excel worksheet. When I do a mail merge, the prices in the Price column don't retain their appropriate money formats. Help please!

In what way - what were the formats, what happens to them - how were they formatted in the cell?

Could you post a copy of the excel file for us to look at?

This is one of those obvious problems M$ misses doing something about; ergo, you will have to work around it, so maybe the following will help:
