How to edit cell data without changing print area. FIXED print area
I have a workbook with multiple sheets that I need to print.
Is there a way to create a fixed print area within which you can mess around with formatting without extending or shrinking the print area? I have tried adjusting the margins settings so that they are all the same, but this does nothing to keep a fixed print area. Any advice would be greatly appreciated Thanks |
Hi Victoria,
In Excel, anything you do to change a row's height or a column's width affects all cells on that row or column, respectively. Given what you're describing, you may need to create one or more separate worksheets, linked to the just the content containing the print data in the source sheets, with only the destination sheet formatted for printing. FWIW, In Word, a table can have rows & columns that are independently sized from the other rows & columns. |
Thanks for your reply.
So is the only solution to create the data in word or another program and then insert it into the print area on an excel sheet? - How should I do that Also, is it possible to manually manipulate excel sheets with different layouts to print to the same size using margins, scale and print are settings? - If I change the size of a cell, do my margins change? Thanks again for your help Victoria |
