Basic operation of Excel not working!

Some of basic operation are not working in excel.can u suggest me the correct format of operation of addition,sub,mul,div etc.

Excel Formula for addition, multiplication, division and subtraction
=1+1
=1*2
=9/3
=1-1

You are sticking to the BODMAS rules, aren't you

• Brackets - annything in brackets gets done first (restart BODMAS)
• Order - Powers of, or order second, ie: 2 squared
• Division - If equations are not segregated by brackets, then this is the first.
• Multiplication - the next math function
• Addition - comes towards the end
• Subtraction - is the final mathematical operator

Examples:
1 3*3-4+8 = 13
3*3-(4+8) = -3

2 5*5+20/5 = 29 the brackets cause no
(5*5)+(20/5) = 29 change, precedence is
followed, (/, *, and then +)

3 8+10/2*4+6 = 34
(8+10)/(2*4)+6 = 8.25
8+10/2*(4+6) = 58

4 4-2*8+10-3/6 = -2.5
(4-2)*8+(10-3)/6 = 17.1666 recurring
(4-2)*8+10-3/6 = 25.5

5 3*2squared = 12 (Order is first, so it becomes 3*4)
(3*2)squared = 25 (Brackets comes first so it becomes 5squared)
