![]() Hello everyone, I am sorry for the noob question but maybe someone could do this in a minute rather than me in 8 hours. I need to have a date and shift formula to appear when I place a start date and shift. For example lets say my company is working 3 shifts 8hours each, 1st 2nd and 3rd. We run various parts some take 9 shifts others take 1 shift and some could take 3 and or 4 shifts etc... varies from part to part day to day. I would like to enter the day and shift starts, and the number of shifts it takes to finish. I would like the outcome to be the next start day and shift for the next part. So if I start 9/7 on 3rd shift, and it takes 4 shifts to run, the next day we would start the next part would appear as 9/8 2nd and if that 9/8 2nd shift part took 9 shifts to run (counting starting shift) the next part would start 9/11 2nd shift. I hope this is enough information to help me. Thank you so much... I also have a more complicated request if you're up for it. I mean it is super hard. Also we work 7 days a week. Except major holidays... but those should also be calculated in |

You might Google "Production Planning Calculator for Excel" and see what comes up.
It sounds like a rate planner. |

This is what I have and I am stuck on the fact that it is calculating the day as 24 hours instead of as a shift of 8 hours. Could someone please take a look and adjust.
I need to enter the day, the time a shift starts, how many shifts it takes, then calculate the start and final day and shift. Thanks |

Thanks, I was just tinkering and discovered, our third shift starts the day, so our day schedule is for example
What I need to do is place a start date the line will run, the shift it starts, and the number of shifts it takes to complete - not factoring in lunch (shifts are 8 hours) and should be calculated as such. The end result will be the day and time (next shift in sequence) the part should be loaded on to the line. I know this sounds like a production schedule, but it isn't... I don't need anything that complex. Example... our schedule is done as 3rd shift as the start of the day, so if I start at 11pm (23:00) on day A 9/5/12 and end 9/7/12 at 11pm so the next run will be 9/8/12 7am (first shift) so I ran for 7 shifts. 9/5 - 3rd (11pm) 9/6 - 1st (7am) and 2nd (3pm) 9/6 - 3rd (11pm) 9/7 - 1st (7am) and 2nd (3pm) 9/7 - 3rd (11pm) (7shifts - each shift is 8 hours) 8/1- 1st (7am) - this shift is the start of next part I have attached the file itself. This is the formula I am using in cell C6 - =A2+B3+((A6)/24) thanks Last edited by freeman; 09-10-2012 at 02:01 PM. |

I would love it if someone could offer the code for offsetting a day by one hour.
