Default Sorting larg Excel file cause windows hang

Hello,

I have an Excel file I'm trying to sort that makes my windows xp with 2G of memory to hang. the file is 3.5M and have lots of rows.
When I'm sorting a small file with not too much rows the sorting takes a little amount of time.
everything was fine 2 weeks ago. I had updates installed on my computer, but they were automatically installed by my network administrator.

I tried to copy the file to my local machine but the problem remains.

Does any one knows what may cause this problem?
did anyone encounter this issue before?

thanks in advanced,
Eli

It may be that your Excel file has some corruption.
Try highlighting and copying just the data to a new Excel workbook and see if that makes a difference.
Good luck.
