permanently unprotecting a sheet or workbook

I'm constantly having to unprotect trying to fill in info. Don't really need the calculation functions for this work, just filling in blanks. How do I unprotect permanently?

how is your workbook protected -- is there a macros -- do you need password to open or just edit

It's password protected. Very simple password. However, I've already gotten the work done, laboriously, but it's done.
