I have attached a file where I need to know the monthly growth rate for sales reps. I have attached a file with one reps #'s....I for my life cannot figure out how to enter a formula with an exponential figure. I beleive the formula for an annual (or monthly growth rate) is as follows:
CAGR (Compound Annual Growth Rate) = ((V(tn)/V(to)) to the (1/tn-to) -1 whereby V(tn) = finish value, V(to) = Start value tn-to = number of years (months) I may be complicating this way too much, please help me learn how to use a formula with exponential numbers!!! Thanks Very Very Much!!!! Excel worksheet Attached.SG ECV and Pipeline Forecasting Data - V1.xlsx |

Hi,
To enter exponentials in Excel you need to use the ^ symbol. I've got better news for you though: Excel 2007 has a built-in worksheet function to calculate the CAGR. The function is called XIRR(). You can find more information about it in the Excel helpfile and there's an example here: http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/ex...001122506.aspx Hope that helps... |
