I am running excel 2007. I am trying to do conditional formatting when a value is less than 0. What I ended up with is a number in red and a cell background of light red. I only wanted the number in red. The conditional formatting has the option for highlight sells. I do not want to highlight a cell.

Hi,
You don't need conditional formatting to show negative numbers in red. Select the cells > right click > format cells > choose Number and then select one of the red options on the right hand side. You can also adjust the decimal separator and number of decimal places. If this doesn't quite give you the format you want then let us know and we can show you how to set up a custom format. |
