I know nothing about Linux, but I would start with the premise that M$ does not like Linux
Once a file is put into a M$ environment, then things work fine I would, therefore, "Google" for Linux solutions before I went to M$ I long ago learned going outside of M$ Operating System can create extra problems I would make the same observation if I used Apple products; to wit, I would be leery of non-Apple products with a Windows basis--for example, Office for Apple would be fine, because this Office version would be written for an Apple OS Mixing OS's is one road I care not to travel down |

My problems are with some excel files and excel files only. Word and anything else created in 2003 is fine. I believe it is Linux that is causing the problem, but I don't know why it is only some excel files and not all?
I would never mixed os's either. That is the way this network was set up here when I came and it does cause nothing but headaches. I am hoping to get some things changed but in the mean time I have to try to figure this out. |
