Okay, so
  • First you need to save the add-in into the shared network folder.
  • Then I suggest you right click > properties and make the file read-only. This means that if you want to make an update to the add-in later on, it will not be locked by your colleagues.
  • Once the file is saved your colleagues need to open Excel > Office button > addins > Manage Excel-Addins > GO > Browse
  • In the pop-up window they then need to browse to the shared network folder and double click on the addin.
  • They will get a prompt asking them if they want to copy the add-in to their local AddIns folder. They should choose NO. If they choose YES then it would mean that future updates would be more difficult to give to them because their version of the add-in would be saved locally.
  • Once they click on OK your add-in and its macros should be available to them (it should be ticked in their add-in list).
