Excel 2010 deleting original file and .tmp
Hello,
Here is our scenario and issue. Several users sharing an excel file on a shared network drive. Server is 2003. Excel is 2010. When someone edits the file the original file is renamed to .tmp so they can work on it. Randomly... so it appears the original file is deleted and of course the .tmp file is deleted when closed but it does not re-create or save to the original file. Sometimes the file is there but is then only viewable by the user editing the file. No other users can see the file even after it is closed. Has anyone seen this behavior. We are thinking its a MS bug but want to verify it before opening a case. Thanks! |

The problem may not be to do with Excel at all, but with your network configuration.
