Default Saving xls file in Office 2007

Hi,

I got a template that we used for years and is saved as a xls file. We could work on the file in Office 2007 without issues. This month something went wrong. We can open the file but can't save. When we save Excel 2007 falls flat on its back and we loose all our changes. I tried to convert the file to xlsx but we loose all the graphs.

When I open the file on my virtual with Office 2003 it works perfectly and I can save and update from an external data source without issues.

Anyone got an idea what went wrong? To redo the file will take months and I'm the only one with a copy of Office 2003 that can work on the file.
