Windows 7 64bit Font colour & highlighting does not work

Font colour & highlighting does not work

I have Excel 2007 on Windows 7 64-bit. Whenever I try to highlight or use colour font it does not work. It reverts back to black and does not highlight. It use to be OK before. What can be causing this? Everything else
