Exclamation Change cell color everytime a value is selected in dropdown list

I am trying to create a data entry form and I have created a dropdown list based on the actions the users can choose from. Like for example, if the user chose Remove Access, some cells will be grayed out and if workable, cannot be filled out; same goes to other value when they select, there will be specific fields that cannot be filled out. Is it possible without having complicated macro programming?

Thanks so much for the help!

hi grizz! yes, this is the idea. how did you do that? sorry, im logging now at my notebook with Excel starter 2010...I have attached the form that i'm working on...my idea is that once the Remove access is selected, the Start Date will be grayed out...then when Create New User is selected and the status is Permanent, End Date will be automatically set as 30/12/2099, but if the status is Contractor, the End Date can be filled up. am i asking too much?

thanks so much!
