Excel problem with buttons
HI everyone,
Couple of user are having problems when some of the buttons that I create to run some macros are disappearing,, just the button macros still there. I start with a template and then I save the doc. then when someone else go to modified it sometimes the button would be gone. Not sure if it is a version compatibility since some users are using Office 2000, some Office XP and some Office 2003. Does anyone have seen this or have an idea? thanks AMD2800 |

Yes when they open the spreadsheet the button are just missing. No where to be found. they are a total of 40 and it is a pain to copy and paste each one.. the Macros are there only the buttons are gone.
I try this morning to create one on Office2000 save it a and then open it on another machine with office2003 and no problem so I am not sure what is happening. |

Hi AMD2800,
When creating the buttons, is this usually done on an Office 2000 PC or an Office 2003 PC? Are the adversely affected PCs running Office 2000 or Office 2003? Are all Office installations up-to-date (eg SP3)?

The template is created on Office 2002.
They all have their update up to date. I narrow it down to be the office2003 excel user. He get the fallowing errors: File Error Data may have been lost. It get this error a few time then he gets this other error: Can't exit design mode because control checkbutton can not be created...,,, I try to open the same file on a different user with Office 2003 and it opens okay no error messages.. the only different on the users is that the one that I am having problem with is running windows 7 64 bits everyone else is running windows XP. |

Hi AMD2800,
In that case, the error probably has something to do with that user's profile or a faulty Office installation on their PC.
