Default Disappearring Macros

I created a macro-enabled reporting weekly on Excel for a number vendors that we represent. Each week, a template file is systematically replicated and renamed with the vendor name and week ending date in the file name. This file has a number of exception-based tools that we can use to efficiently manage our businesses.

I’ve been running this report (with periodic enhancements) for roughly 2 years without issue. A few weeks ago, this particular vendor file started behaving “quirky” in that the buttons that drive some of the macros disappeared, but the text labels for those buttons remain. A few quick call-outs:
  • This issue never once occurred when we had Dropbox, and seems to align with our switch to OneDrive (this may be coincidental – I’m not sure).
  • This issue only seems to occur for one particular vendor, despite that all other 30+ vendor reports are created from the identical report template.
  • When I re-replicate the source template file and drop in the one vendor-specific report again, the buttons show as-intended.
  • This happens sporadically, and is not consistent.
Where should I start looking to find the problem?
