Question Find drop down list entry with keystrokes

Hi there,

I am populating a drop down list by using data validation as shown in the screenshot attached (attached excel book too).

The functionality I would like is:
Rather than having to scroll down a (potentially) very long list, I want to be able to start typing a customer name and the drop down "finds it". The functionality is very similar to that of Windows when you are in a particular directory, as you type windows explorer starts taking you "down to " the matching file name. What I need looks a lot like this http://www.excelautocomplete.com/, but I don't want to have to install an addin... I'm a little scared of that. Also, I'd have to install it for all my users.

In short:
I don't want to have to scroll a whole lot to select my customer.
My customer list is ever growing as per the entries in Table1.
Could anyone please suggest an elegant solution to "get me to my customer" ?

Thanks in advance,
Michelle

If you create a named range =Table1[Company]
and use that named range for your data validation
then this will do what you're wanting.
