Reflecting on my problem regarding my failure to find a way to indicate problem solved, delete post, and lack of success in finding how to contact a moderator, I realize that one might conclude that I was to lazy to pursue those things to a successful conclusion. I just want to clarify that easy was not a perquisite in my efforts. I clicked on just about every option looking for ways too accomplish those things. An example of what I encountered is the "problem solved" feature. Forum data indicates that "Thread tools" has that option. However my "Thread tools" does not include that as an option. The forum FAQ also indicated that administrator (whoever that is) can disable delete option. My edit button does not give the option to delete as it is indicated by the"edit button" "mouse over" message. |

Hi
could you eventually click on " Thread Tools" and post a (partial) "Print screen" or something to show what you actually get ? I think Macropod and Matrix have admin rights. Have you tried to PM them? (I will indicate the tread as solved for you)

As for trying to PM a Mod or admin, I never had any problems, but a ( not so straightforward ) possibility to find one is to open a forum and look at the first thread. If it's a "sticky" ( usually yellow background) it's usually posted by someone having the rights to do so which should be a Mod or an Administrator.

Until you advised me, I had no idea who might be having admin rights....so no, i have not advised Macropod or Matrix of my concerns.
Thank you for indicating thread solved. Per your request, the following is a partial "printable version" taken from "Thread tools" drop down....starting at the beginning of the thread. Column "A 1 aaaa 2 blank 3 bbbb 4 blank 5 comma 7 cccc 6 blank 8 comma 9 dddd 10 eeee Column "B" 1 aaaa 2 bbbb 3 cccc 4 dddd 5 eeee I receive data in a vertical configuration (column "A"). However the data shows up in an inconsistent manner because the number of blank spaces separating the desired data varies. In addition, there are commas randomly included in the column "A". What I am wanting to do is to transfer the data in column "A" to column "B" so that each category of data (aaaa, bbbb, cccc, dddd, eeee) will reside in a constant address. What you have provided me so far does the job,. However, I mistakenly specified to delete the "entire row" where blanks occurred instead of just deleting the "cell "where the blank occurred. I also neglected to mention where the commas occur that I want to those cells to be deleted as well. In addition to the info you have provided, Range("A1", Cells(Rows.Count, "A").End(xlUp)).SpecialCells(xlBlanks).EntireR ow.D elete if I just wanted to delete the blank cells, to would I change "EntireRow.Delete" ? And to what would I change (xlBlanks) to get rid of the commas? |

Thanks for the tip of using "sticky" as an indicator. |
