Macros don't work in password protected file.
I added a password to open my Excel 2007 file but now the macros don't work. I want to keep the file contents private but still run macros. Is there a way to do this?

I have such a file. Are you un-protecting the file before trying to run the macro? Otherwise Excel sees running the macro as an attempt to change a pw-protected file and balks at running it.
I type in the pw each time I want to run the macro. Usually I'm not making changes to this file so I just close without saving, which saves the hassle of re-protecting. |

Thanks WRowan for your response. I tried everything suggested at this web location:
http://www.globaliconnect.com/excel/...=79&Itemid=475 But those suggestions are assuming the worksheet is protected which is not the case. I only have a password enabled to open the file, other than that the worksheet has no protection enabled. I could remove the password and allow macros to run, but I would have to manually add the password back before closing which is such a hassle. There must be a more efficient way to approach this but I don't have a clue. |
