Default Paste over data validation

Hi,

I have data validation in a column in my excel sheet. But when ever i copy data from another cell to any cell having data validation it allows to overwrite that data. I dont want to use any VBA macro to disallow this paste over validation.

Kindly suggest any other option for the same. So that only option in drop down can be selected and no any other copied data. Please remeber i dont want to use any macro.

Thnaks

I would love to help I really would but I messed around with this for over an hour and cannot come up with anything apart from making a formula to analyze the data validation cells' value and then displaying the result you want. You specified that you do not want to use any VBA which is too bad because we could put something together that would not even require you to analyze the code or run anything it would just not allow any other value in the cell besides what you set. Sorry without VBA I cannot be of any other assistance.

Thanks

I truly appreciate your efforts but i have already made a vba macro for that and that's running perfectly. But due to my clients requirement i can not use VBA in this scenario.

Anyways, thanks a ton for your efforts. I appreciate that.
