Macro to read text file and organize data in excel
Hello all,
I need to write a macro which imports a text-file and organize it in 4 coulmns. the text file is as shown below. 1.JPG by the end the excel template should remove the extra lines and include only the need information as shown below. 2.JPG Could any one please help me. I am new to excel VBA programming. till now i was able to create a table which fills data from text file. but its still having delimiter problem. i cant fix it as the name of the type is sometimes small and sometimes large. It would be of great help if anyone could help me. Thanks a lot, chini |

Pretty sure it would be to your advantage to post files people could work with rather than pictures.
For assistance with VBA code you already have, you would need to let people see it. |

This doesn't do everything you're after, it doesn't put in the borders and it doesn't merge any cells, which is something I would avoid.
In the code you'll need to change the location for your text file. I'm sure somebody else will have better ideas of how to do this but until then I hope this is of some use. Good Luck NoSparks |
